Sethu Institute of Technology was established in 1995 by Sethu Educational Trust based on the threee cardinal principles "KNOWLEDGE, SERVICE and PROGRESS". Philanthropist Mr. S. Mohamed Jaleel, B.Sc., B.L., is the founder and Correspondent of the Institution.

The College approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and affiliated to Anna University, Chennai is located on Madurai - Tuticorin Highway at Pulloor, Kariapatti, Virudhunagar Dt. in a sprawling area of 132 acres.

The College started with 180 students in the year 1995 in 3 disciplines have flourished to the level of 2000 in 9 disciplines including 3 post graduate courses.
